May 31, 2013. In Biochemical PSA Recurrence we added: Mediterranean Diet. This study indicates that carnosol may be the active anti-cancer ingredient of the Mediterranean diet. It is found in the spices rosemary and sage. The paper indicates that there is test tube and animal evidence that carnosol has activity against prostate, breast, skin, leukemia and colon cancers. Given that the Mediterranean diet is known to have health benefits in humans this suggests that the test tube and animal studies may apply.
May 31, 2013. In Biochemical PSA Recurrence we added: Carbohydrate Restriction. [PMID: 23038057] showed that restricting carbohydrates to 20% of calories slowed prostate cancer in mice.
