Six Months of the Palpable Prostate

The Palpable Prostate site began in February 2007 and there is now a history of about six months. A few statistics as of July 31, 2007:

• posts have appeared at least weekly since inception
• 70 posts
• many posts have been retroactively updated to incorporate new information
• 2,104 visits to the site
• 3,886 page views
• average time viewers spend on site per visit is 6 minutes 22 seconds
• visitors from 58 countries and 485 cities
• the US was the number one country for visits
• New York City was the number one city for visits. Karlsruhe, Germany was second with only one fewer visit than New York.

Some features of the site:

• pubmed links to primary literature and good secondary sources
• quantitative, not just qualitative, considerations
• program code included where applicable
• focused rather than comprehensive to save readers time
• news links at top
• particularly useful links into the site and elsewhere along right side
• focus on prostate cancer and associated nutrition
